The primary purpose is the fillet sealing of fuel tanks and various aircraft fuselage sealing applications. Even after prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas, the cured sealant retains exceptional elastomeric properties.
This sealant is a two-part, epoxy-cured Permapol P-3 polythioether compound. In its uncured state, the material takes the form of a low sag, thixotropic paste, making it suitable for application using an extrusion gun or spatula. Unlike conventional polysulfide fuel tank sealants, PR1826 Class B can cure effectively at low temperatures and remains unaffected by changes in relative humidity. When properly primed with PR1826AP Adhesion Promoter, this sealant demonstrates excellent adhesion to commonly used aircraft substrates.
