A Versatile Rubber and Gasket Adhesive
3M Scotch-Weld EC-1300L is a professional-grade, yellow, solvent-based neoprene adhesive specifically engineered for high-performance bonding in the aerospace and aviation sectors. As the lower-viscosity version of the standard 1300 adhesive, it is optimized for easy brushing and large-area spray applications. It creates immediate high-strength bonds between neoprene, reclaimed SBR, and butyl rubbers to various substrates including metal, wood, and most plastics.
Recommended Applications
- General MRO
- Bonding rubber gaskets to metal surfaces
- General purpose bonding applications (Should not be applied to EPDM or TPO)
- Attaching rubber to various substrates
- Repairing rubber
An Everyday MRO Adhesive with Industrial Capabilities Due to the versatility behind the design of 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300L, it has become one of the most popular tapes for general MRO applications. In order to meet the demands of large scale operations, we have made 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300L available in tubes, cans and pails. Additionally, this adhesive is sprayable with industrial grade spray equipment.
Applying Your AdhesiveWhether it is being sprayed, brushed or rolled on, the application of your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying your adhesive to your surface until it results a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is accomplished when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
Application
- Gasket Bonding: Attaching rubber gaskets to aircraft metal panels and access doors.
- Aviation MRO: Repairing rubber seals, bumpers, and sheeting within the fuselage and engine compartments.
- Substrate Versatility: Bonding neoprene and SBR rubber to aluminum, steel, and composite materials.
- Large Surface Coverage: Ideal for interior cabin flooring or insulation panels due to its sprayable consistency.
3M EC 1300L
- Base: Polychloroprene (Neoprene).
- Color: Yellow.
- Consistency: Thin Liquid (optimized for spray/brush).
- Viscosity: 250 – 1,000 cps.
